Huntresses under the first queen Otrera, daughter of Ares and the nymph Harmonia, worshipers of Artemis, fighters in the Trojan War residing in the land of Pontus at the foot of the Black Sea. In studying some Ancient Greek art of Amazons, I also came upon an interesting myth that some removal of breasts may have occurred within the culture, either to make a more efficient use of a bow, or as an offering, a pledge of loyalty to Artemis.
